Making films to tell the stories that words cannot

I knew I wanted to be in command of storytelling when I was acting in school plays as a child and automatically became that annoying child that knows everyone’s lines and directs the play from the stage when the others fall back. It was a mix of that and the early encouragement I received for my writing that made me realise writing and directing films was where I wanted to go. I have so much fun seeing how the pieces fall into place the way I imagine them and it inspires me continuously to create new ones I can play with.

Born and raised in a small town in Mallorca (Spain) to German and Serbian parents, I frequently traveled and quickly developed a multicultural perspective that allowed me to develop an understanding of the world unique to my experience. I wanted to share this understanding with others and art quickly became the way to do so. Graduating in 2023 in Liberal Arts with a major in film and a minor in music at King’s College London furthered my knowledge in these fields, as did my semester abroad at the University of California and attending film festivals from a young age. My proficiency in 5 languages has helped communicate these ideas and break sociocultural boundaries that could otherwise prevent a thorough understanding of them. I have been making films for 6 years and co-directed my first feature film La La Lander in 2024, which is currently in post-production.
